Traveling by bus with a wheelchair, walking aids or baby carriage: mona is committed to improving mobility in the Allgäu. This includes, in particular, accessibility when traveling by bus.
Low-floor buses are used exclusively within the city of Kempten and predominantly on the regional bus routes in the surrounding area and in the southern district of Oberallgäu. Many bus stops have already been converted into low-floor stops: specially adapted low-floor kerbs - so-called “Kassel kerbs” - ensure smooth, level boarding. To make bus stops clearly recognizable for blind and visually impaired people, so-called Kassel crossing kerbs are also used.
Our activities in favor of barrier-free bus travel are gradually being implemented across the entire mona region. At the mona transport association, we are working to ensure that you can travel as barrier-free as possible on public transport in the Allgäu.
